#1999NEVERFORGET

Tonight is all about football. All about Manchester United. Glory is Ours.

Don't hate Barcelona either, actually they're my favorite Spanish club team. In this case that doesn't make a difference though.

Dumpster Disco :-D

Attended Dumpster Disco vol. 2 at Roska HKI yesterday. Really liked the concept - wide selection of new tunes from euro & nu-disco to witch house matched with epic juggalo visuals that JENKEM_SNIFFA had been fine tuning until 5am on the previous night.

Like some random og raver said yesterday, this could be the new Misf*ts.

In case you're wondering where to go today (..for example to celebrate Manchester United's #FlawlessVictory!) there's SLAP! vol.2 @ ClubYK. Worth attending.

Here's some witch-house/drag/whatever..

LDNxMETSÄESPOO[FIXEDGEAR]

Cycling 2day. And running after that. #triathlon(duathlon)style #h8swimming.

Last week I was in the UK from monday to sunday. Especially in London cycling seems to be very popular. Didn't see too many fixed gear bikes though, most were singlespeed or derailleur65000x35252Xshimano. Probably it's just that many londoners choose the most convenient & safe way to commute in the heavy traffic.

Anyway here's some random bike photos from the UK (mainly from Hoxton & Oxford Street LDN):

Already looking forward to this years TdF - the underground cycling competion where Trek MTB frame & 27 gears sets the absolute minimum.

#beautifulgear

I've been playing football since I was 6 years old and for 95% of the time I've been into exclusive football boots. Still for the past few years I've kept it classic by wearing Nike Ronaldinho Dois in black & yellow.

Until today when I finally got the Nike CTR360 Maestri II Elite's. I had high expectations but these boots really exceeded them even on the rather difficult conditions. Hate the sketchy pitches used in most games but otherwise 5th division football is great! :D

I might do a separate posting on the aesthetics and recent evolution of football gear. Until then there's always BeautifulGear and FootyBoots.

#LastOfTheEnglishRoses

One of the greatest artists and style icons of the 21st century: Pete Doherty tonight @ the Manchester Academy. Looking forward to a great show - seen one before at Debaser Medis, Stockholm and it was a huge positive surprise.
My archive consists of 378 tunes Doherty has been involved in and I can honestly say that I like each and every one of them.

Linked these to highlight the variety of Libertines/Babyshambles/Doherty brilliance:

#manchester

Back again in one of my favorite cities - Manchester, UK.

Last time I was here I ended up witnessing a game of foosball between James Milner, Adam Johnson, Chicharito and @rioferdy5 with Tinchy Stryder as referee.

Oh, and here's something for Jan (#TeamElmo), Jukka (#balkan) and all other liverpool lads out there. 19 is history and it's one more than scousers have:

Of course got the 19 is history shirt too, more info on that at beautifulgear - the hypebeast of the global game.

#PLAYOFFZ

Grew a playoff-stache for #TeamFinland :-[D It's a better excuse than movember anyway. And there's no playoffs in 5th division football so this is probably the best excuse I'll get this year..

Johan Agebjörn is a legend in modern italo disco and he just released an album titled Casablanca Nights.

I can highly recommend this, as well as everything else Johan has ever produced. Every dj set I've heard from him has been solid too.

RUN HKI

Ran The Helsinki City Run 1/2-marathon on Saturday. Last year I had some injury problems at HCR, but everything went better than expected and I set my PB at 1:22:58. This year I didn't really have too much time to sleep or even not be on my legs before the race and it really showed in the results.

At first I thought of not even posting the time here, but perhaps 21,1km@1:26:51 should be here to remind me that next year it's better go to the line prepared or not go at all. I wonder which hurt more, the pain in my legs that were tired before the start or realising that I wasn't going to improve my PB, which I had done on the last 3 consecutive 1/2 marathons.

Except for my miserable 1,5 hours on the track it was a really great day though! The weather was perfect and it was fun to meet some old & new friends at Nike Run House.

Beni & Olli played the best tunes I've heard in any running related event ever.

Back when I was designing this Run House print there was still snow on the ground.

Want to win a limited edition Nike Run House t-shirt? Check out Shafik's HCR posting & contest.

// Photos above by Petri Kovalainen - cheers m8.

When I first heard some mixes by John B I really wasn't all that impressed. Recently took a second look at some of his stuff and at least 'John B Podcast 080' sounds like a perfect soundtrack for a fast paced run. Fresh style to mix dnb with elements from modern electro and even italo disco.

Shoutout to the old long distance runner & uk rave digger Mikko (pictured in a serious hangover) for first recommending John B. I guess I ran into the wrong mixes back then.

I don't carry my ipod on running events like HCR though. But a good soundtrack is absolutely essential for any training run.

NSWAVE

Visited the Nike Trend showroom yesterday and found some great sample items. Needed new clothes (mainly via not having time to wash all the old ones) so the timing was perfect for this.

NSW Selvedge M-65. The Gore-Tex version of this jacket is one of my favorite pieces of clothing ever so really looking forward to wearing this one as well. Looks and feels like the perfect jacket for almost any situation.

The Nike Trend Sample Sale is open 5/5/2011 - 6/5/2011 13-19 at Fredrikinkatu 31, HKI. More info via fb-event.

Haven't ran into any so special tracks in the past few days but here's a decent one:

Oh and Salem cancelled their show at Sonar. S000 bummed not 2 see these live:

Here's some photos from the epic May Day weekend (almost in chronological order).
